It struck a chord with me that I have been working with a lot just this week. At first I didn’t understand your title of “smiling at the pain” (masochism has it’s place!) when I saw it on your Twittter post.
But, seriously it was a very refreshing look at identifying and facing your problems in a way that you can control.
Well said!

]]>Uncanny really because I have been running a campaign called”Getting back on the Horse” that covers a lot of what you have said.
With a physical goal that relies on effort, your plan is fantastic.
The problem with spirituality is that it focuses on faith and belief. It does not matter how much someone hits the brick wall they need someone to help them back on the horse, and that person MUST be there for them everytime.
The reason that you cannot learn these teachings from a book or from someone who has only read a book is that ,that person will not have the TOTAL faith and belief to convince you that the universal laws are the same for everybody.
You touch on the simple way of doing this by having a group or partner and this once again is great for a physical activity but it only goes so far with spirituality, it is essential that you can have access to a person that has had success and experienced the workings of the universal laws, like yourself.
In self development the figure for people not achieving would be 99%.
This is a tweet I have been running on twitter for a couple of weeks.
Why do 99% of people fail to be able to apply self development techniques. This article discusses the problem http://tr.im/dr5w Interesting
I hope the link becomes live if you post this.
No one ever finds time for self improvement, the serious ones make time. They decide on priorities.
Hope that makes sense and Congratulations you are doing a fantastic job.

]]>Love the “league of their own analogy. My other favorite from that movie is “There’s no crying in baseball, there’s NO crying baseball.”
I like to draw pictures of what it will look like when I have what I want. It makes it real outside myself somehow.
